Brainspotting Therapy

Therapy for Anxiety, Trauma, and Emotional Healing—In Person and Online

Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-body therapy that helps individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, emotional blocks, and stress-related symptoms by accessing the areas of the brain where these experiences are stored. This therapy uses specific eye positions (brainspots) to unlock and release what’s held in the nervous system—offering deep healing beyond what talk therapy alone can reach.

Brainspotting was developed by Dr. David Grand and is rooted in neuroscience. It helps the brain process and resolve trauma at its source, leading to emotional regulation, relief from symptoms, and a restored sense of balance.

What Is Brainspotting

Your eyes are directly connected to your brain’s trauma and emotional processing centers. During a session, we identify an eye position related to a particular emotional issue or body sensation. While you maintain focus on this spot, your brain begins its natural self-scanning and healing process.

This process supports:

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Emotional integration

  • Reduction of physical and emotional distress

  • Greater clarity and calm

Brainspotting is especially effective for trauma stored in the body—the kind that words alone can’t always access.

How Brainspotting Works

Every session is grounded in safety, attunement, and pacing that honors your body’s capacity. Brainspotting is not about pushing through—it's about creating space for your nervous system to heal on its own terms.

Your session may include:

  • A check-in and collaborative goal setting

  • Identification of a brainspot through eye position

  • Bilateral sound to support processing (optional)

  • Gentle tracking of physical sensations, emotions, and insights

  • Time for integration and reflection

Sessions can be quiet, emotional, curious, or surprising. Many clients report feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to themselves after sessions.
